How's the prose in terms of easy reading? I recently started Their Eyes Were Watching God, but I'm having trouble with Hurston's style; it's not always smooth reading, especially in dialogue.
I found it difficult to start with, but easier as it went on - maybe I just acclimated? At first I thought the description was somewhat excessive and the dialogue challenging (but there's not much dialogue, since she's alone so often), but it bothered me less in the second half.
